Ted's obituary
Ted "Tug" Slaymaker Jr., 79, of Herriman, UT, passed away on January 29, 2025 after a brief battle with Cancer
Ted was born on September 16, 1945 to Ted Sr. and Noreen Slaymaker in Salt Lake City. After leaving High School at the age of 17 he obtained he G.E.D. and enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country for 6 years. After being honorably discharged he worked 3 different jobs before getting a job for Kennecott Copper Mines. After leaving there he went into Refrigeration earning his Jouneyman degree and did that up until he retired. In 1966 he met Jeannine, and they wed in 1967, going on to have 3 children, Jim (Debbie), Bob (Nancy), Kathy (Ben). Ted was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of each of his 10 grandchildren and 22 great granchildren and always tried his best to support them. Ted was also a passionate Hunter and Fisherman and could often be found Golfing when he wasn’t at home. Anyone who knew Ted knew that he was the most loving father and husband a familyp could ask for. Ted was predeceased by Both parents, 1 Sister and 2 Brothers. He is survived by Wife Jean, 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers, all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ted did not want Funeral Services.
There will be a small Veteran's Ceremony Monday April 14th at 1pm located at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 1700 W Bluffdale, Utah 84065.
Followed by a potluck get together at Bluffdale City Main Park 2400 W 14400 S Bluffdale Utah 84065
