Ted was indeed a kind hearted soul who enjoyed good food, good drink and good times.   I have many fond memories of getting together with Ted and Mary for New Year's Eve dinners and cook outs at my house.  I have a  pool table, ping pong table and dart board in my basement, but whenever Ted would come over with his own cue stick and darts,  just like Dave Rusnak said, I knew I was in trouble!  Actually Ted taught me a number of good things about shooting pool that I did not know.  Of course, that still doesn't mean that I was able to beat him.  I always enjoyed talking to Ted since he was so knowledgeable on a number of topics, including music.  We had similar tastes in music and I especially enjoyed hearing stories about his going to Woodstock!

With deepest sympathy to Ted's family and of course Mary.

I was so sorry to hear about Ted's passing.

My first recollection of Ted was in the late 70s when we both worked at Franklin Lakes, NJ.

I was a new hire and joined a recreational volleyball team. Ted was a member of a rival

team.  More often than not, our team was on the losing side (Grrrr) of the friendly rivalry.

In 82/83, IBM decided to relocate the majority of the NJ development jobs elsewhere. A

number of folks decided to move to the Bethesda location. Around this time, Ted was building

a house in Laurel. We had a guest room and Ted was in-between residences, so for a brief

while, Ted stayed with us (thus establishing the Eng Suite). Ted, ever the bon vivant,

introduced me to (good) cognac. We did a lot of grilling back then, and I must admit,

maybe we enjoyed the cognac a bit too much during dinner preparation. A lot of non-flambe

dishes turned out to be flambe-ed.

During our tenure at IBM, our jobs never overlapped but we kept in sporadic touch.

Fond memories of volleyball with the IRS(?) crew in Baltimore and 'refreshments' at

Monaghans. On occasion, Ted would organize 'pool nights'. You know you're in trouble

when Ted breaks out the collapsible pool cue and brings his own darts. Talk about

bringing a gun to knife fight!

Ted was adventurous in his cuisine, handy to a fault and irreverent in his humor.

He'll be missed. Rest in peace.

What a full and happy life!  He lived it so when he was born and cried as an infant, the World rejoiced.  Now he is rejoicing, and the World cries.

Outside Portsmouth, England
This was during one of our many trips to Portsmouth for the EOSE project, a re-engineering effort within IBM.  Not quite sure what year, but mid 1990's?  I don't recall if this was on this exact trip, but at some point the airlines prohibited smoking, and Ted was not particularly happy about that.  However, we did get free drinks, and I recall he did his best to empty many of those little bottles since he could not have his smoke break!  A kind, funny, and wonderful co-worker, he will be missed.

Dayna,

Your father was an all around good person who I knew for at least 30 years at IBM.  He was quick witted and humble always with a joke or quip.  It was a pleasure knowing him.  He taught me about the stock market and shooting Pool.  I know he is looking down on you with great pride.

Live Long and Prosper

My condolences to Ted's family. Ted was a terrific Tau Delta Phi Brother and friend. He was fun and always had something enlightening to say that would make you shake your head and say wow. You have been in my prayers nightly Ted along with our other Brothers in heaven and I am sure that they gave you one heck of a welcome. You were a good man Ted.

I've had the privilege of knowing Teddy for 55 years. We were pledge brothers in 1967 for Tau Delta Phi. I share many fond memories of Teddy during  our pledge days and years as fraternity brothers. As life would have it, we went our separate ways after college but always maintained that bond of brotherhood throughout our lives. I remember traveling to Florida during spring break with our frat brothers Bruce and Frankie. It seems like it was only yesterday. His passing saddens me but the vivid memories of our youth will live on in my memory.

My heartfelt condolences to his daughter Dayna and his partner Mary and his entire family. Rest in eternal peace brother. We will see each other once again in that frat house in heaven. God bless your soul and rest in eternal peace.
