Ted discovered the love of his life in Lois Adkins, and they wed January 6,1952. Their union remained unbroken, enriched with mutual dreams, love, understanding, and respect for 71 years until his beloved Lois's passing in November 2024. While raising their two sons, they imparted their values to them for future generations. As a father this was an achievement he held closest to his heart.

Ted was known for his friendly and good-humored nature, enriched with a touch of wit that brightened everyone's day. Although this was sometimes to the bedevilment of his wife's day! His enduring love for his family was undeniable, willing to do anything for them, epitomizing the true meaning of a loving patriarch.

Among his noteworthy accomplishments were his TV and CB repair shop which he operated for many years, during that time, he also helped Lois drive the school bus, his long and rewarding career as an over-the-road truck driver, all a testament to his unwavering commitment to hard work.  His legacy of friendship extends far beyond his immediate circle, as Ted was known to never know a stranger. His ability to strike a conversation with almost anyone he met was a testament to his affable personality.

He has left behind a beautiful legacy, woven into the lives of those he cherished most, particularly his dedicated family which include a son, Jim Byrum, and four beloved grandchildren - Karen (Dave) Merica, Jennifer Byrum, Daniel (Amanda) Byrum, and Jeremy (Tracey) Byrum and Samuel Byrum, 7 great-grandchildren - Jarrod (Loryn) Byrum, Brianna (Kenzy) Byrum, Lois 'Michele' Steinborn, Kendall (Chris) Vinson, Kelly Byrum, Rick Byrum, Tanner Byrum and one great-great-grandchild Braelynn. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

He was predeceased by his sons, Ricky and Ronny Byrum. Parents John 'Johnny' and Ida Lucille Byrum.

A Celebration of Life for Ted will be held on March 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at 824 Avenue B. The gathering will commemorate the joy and love that Ted spread in his lifetime, reminding us of the importance of cherishing each moment with our loved ones.
