Tawnya's obituary
Tawnya “TaTa” Hine Risner, age 64, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on October 21, 2025, due to numerous health struggles. She was born on July 30, 1961, in LaPorte, Indiana, to Patricia (Feddeler) Warfield and Raymond Hine.
Tawnya was a deeply caring, strong-willed, intelligent, and compassionate woman whose life was marked by resilience and an enduring spirit. She had a sharp sense of humor, a generous heart, and a deep desire to care for others, even when facing her own challenges. Her life reflected strength, vulnerability, and perseverance — the kind of raw, real humanity that touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Harmony Johnson of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Corina (Ric) Jane of Connecticut; her mother and Stepfather Patricia and Ted Warfield of LaPorte; father, Raymond Hine of Franklin, Indiana; and her siblings Tracy (Dale) Bullion, Todd (LeeAnn) Hine, Jennifer (Jim) Edwards, Erin Hampton, and Fritz Warfield.
Tawnya was the proud grandmother of Rosena, Daryn, Christian, Aaron, Annastasia, Ava and Ella, as well as three great grandchildren, all of whom she deeply loved. Her grandchildren brought her light and comfort even in her hardest moments, and her love for them will continue to live on in memory and spirit. She also leaves behind her partner Mike Lhotka. Tawnya came from a big extended family and leaves behind many cousins.
Tawnya will be remembered for her humor, her fierce independence, and her free spirit. She often spoke about wanting to help others and to be home with family — simple wishes that reflected the truest parts of her spirit. Her family will remember her for her love of connection, her tenacity in the face of hardship, and the heartfelt way she expressed herself to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, William (“Bill”) and Mildred (“Mickey”) Feddeler, Raymond (“Pete”)and Anastasia (“Stitch”) Hine and Stepmother Linda Hine whose memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Tawnya will be cremated, and her family intends to hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate her life and the impact she had on those who knew her. The final resting place for her ashes has not yet been determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider financial contributions to the family.
