Tasyia Walker, a cherished daughter, sister, and volunteer, was peacefully laid to rest on March 4, 2025. Born on September 11, 1999, Tasyia lived a life filled with compassion, intelligence, and a fearless spirit. An irreplaceable presence in the lives of all who knew her, Tasyia's legacy lives on in the memories she created and the lives she touched.
Tasyia is survived by her loving parents, Elonda and Noland Walker, her caring sister, Symone Walker, and her supportive brothers, Zavian Hoffman, Zymier Hoffman, and Sebastian Walker. Each of them holds a unique bond and countless memories of Tasyia's goofy, endearing humor and unwavering kindness.
Dedicated to selflessly serving her community, Tasyia volunteered at both the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association and Heart and Hand Ministries. Her generosity extended beyond her volunteer work, manifesting in her care for human rights issues and her innate ability to make others feel seen and valued.
An eclectic soul with diverse interests, Tasyia reveled in a wide variety of music, books, and TV shows. Paramore, India Arie, Outkast, "The Cartel", "Euphoria", and "Shameless" were just a few of her favorites. She was a devoted fan of the Steelers, adored playing games of all kinds, and found joy in exploring the woods, one of her favorite local spots.
Tasyia was a lover of simple pleasures. Whether it was indulging in her favorite noodles and fruit, sipping on Juicy Juice, or consuming content on Google, Youtube, and Facebook reels, she found delight in the everyday. Her favorite ways to exercise, such as walking, reflected her love for the outdoors, as did her favorite vacation spot, Florida.
Known for her vibrant personality, Tasyia had a special knack for making others laugh. She believed in the power of feeling emotions sincerely and treating others with kindness and patience. Her favorite color, green, was a reflection of her cheerful and lively spirit.
As we bid Tasyia a final farewell, we remember her as a beacon of compassion and fearlessness. Her life was a testament to the notion that it's okay to feel emotions and the importance of kindness. She now rests peacefully in the sunlit plains, no longer bound by earthly chains.
