I am not sure how many people realize how much Tamrat has helped the broader Ethiopian community. He was influential in getting the US Congress to change the temporary asylum status of Ethiopians in the US after the overthrow of Emperor Haile Selassie. He lobbied Congress to pass a bill giving permanent asylum to Ethiopians that was so important for the future diaspora community. He then, as a real estate broker, helped many Ethiopian immigrants purchase their first home i America. He also helped many mom and pop restaurants and small businesses get their licenses and stores up and running. Tamrat along with his artistic brother Alemayehu made inroads in working with the African American community for better relations. He also held seminars on the geopolitics between Ethiopian political arties and US relations. He personally took me under his wing in navigating my relationship to my Ethiopian roots. Tamrat was a hero to the Ethiopian diaspora community in every way!

In loving Memory of Tamrat Medhin I’m so honored  to share a few words above all the most courageous person he broke the barrier paved it through for the next generations. A testimonial capture of our dear big brother, one of the few limited editions, one of a kind gentle stand tall out of the 8.2 billion. “I come as one, but I stand as ten thousand.” MayaAngelou, but in Tamrat case stands as millions he was people person who had the compassion to uplift and empower others as a true ambassador born with it, in serving humanities. We all are by birth right Ethiopians but Tamrat with a choice stayed as an Ethiopian never changed his citizenship. A statement with great dignity, he lived as an Ethiopian and died as an Ethiopian even though the opportunity was stripped by different political commotion in the motherland.. The remarkably tall figure like the Washington Monument, foundation of the community, promoted social justice for all, our voice to beheard, immigration concerns helped many different walks of life and the giant entrepreneur in real estate of course he was wearing different hats. Words often fall short when trying to express the deep admiration and love I hold for Tame. From the moment he became a part of our family, he did more than just blend in—he enriched our lives with his kindness, integrity, and unwavering support. Not only is he a man of strength and character, but he also has a heart full of generosity and warmth. His ability to listen, understand, and offer genuine advice has made him a pillar in our lives, someone we can always count on.But what truly sets him apart is the way he cares for and loves his community. He goes above and beyond in everything he does, ensuring that those around him feel valued and cherished. His love is shown not just through words, but through actions that speak volumes about the kind of person he is. In him, I have not only found a brother-in-law (love) buta true friend and confidant. His presence is a blessing, and I am profoundly grateful for the bond we share when I lived in DMV for a year and a half. It’s an honor to call him family, and my life is undoubtedly richer because he is init.Tamrat, the solid rock of the family and a great father to his three angels, raised and developed them into strong and efficient individuals. His unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental inshaping their character and success.Let’s practice honoring, acknowledging and uplifting such incredible people while they’re breathing, and alive to hear us and feel the impact energy. Love permits you to hold on to your nations. To name a few of Tamrat legacy. - Little Ethiopia in DC- Adwa victory day acknowledged patriotism defeated the foreign enemies - The first Ethiopian movie  Guma he brought to District ofColumbia. - Immigration advocacy for our community- Promoting Pan African in DC organizing meeting to embrace African culture and united African as one. - Established connection with government bodies such as mayors, senators and etc to pave the way for our communities success - King of Real Estate helped many people owning properties - Proactive in political action - By nature, a great teacher and mentor in the real estate business. - An entrepreneur who is open minded failed and succeeded in his many lives.

2Ti 4:7. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 4:8. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearance. Tamrat will be missed immensely, great loss to families, friends and the entire communities but  huge gain to heaven   He’ll never be forgotten history will record his achievements and exceptional legacies  May his soul rest in eternal peace.
