Tammy's obituary

Tammy Ellis, a proud mother of eight children and long-time resident of St. Louis, Mo, entered eternal life after five months of being in a persistent vegetative state due to medical neglect. She was ward to the state of Missouri when her children were very young and as a result, her children’s right to remove her from life support after a month and a half of being in an unresponsive state was denied by a court-appointed official and then later denied again by a municipal court judge of Missouri. Although medical reports show Tammy Ellis had little to no brain activity it wasn’t enough to lay her to rest sooner. She suffered until her passing on January 22, 2023, between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. at an area nursing facility in Mo.

Tammy Ellis was born May 6, 1966, to Ethel and Arthur Ellis. She graduated Vashon High school. She dedicated several years of her life to making sure her children stayed connected and for them to recognize her unfailing love for each one of them. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren, four brothers, nine aunts, several uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tammy Ellis was the light of the party. She was very hilarious, she was funny without even trying. She opened her heart and her home to just about anyone and cook them a hot quality meal. She was known to advocate for her right to be treated fairly and for others. She was family oriented. She always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved. A mother like her is rare, one that’s generous, full of wisdom, and kind. In her spare time, she would listen to some oldy but goody old-school R & B and gospel music while cooking some soul food over the stove. She is deeply missed by her children, her family, her friends, and all who knew her.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on February 3, 2023, at the Baucom’s Life Celebration on Lewis and Clark Blvd. Donations can be made in memory of Tammy Ellis to cash app tag: $Love4righteousness and all condolences & memory reflections can all be shared online at: https://www.tributearchive.co…
