Tammy's obituary

Tammy Rae Baker received her wings and went to walk with the Angels on October 4th, 2023, just 2 days shy of her 60th Birthday.

Many of her family and friends were able to shower her with love and affection throughout her final days and held an early celebration before her sickness completely took over.

She fought with courage several medical complications over the last 15 years and was very brave facing the final diagnosis.

Tammy was born in Oregon, but raised in Hazelton, Idaho. She was a loving and spunky daughter to the late Olen & Willa Clark.

Tammy married her lifelong schoolmate at Valley in Hazelton, best friend and soul mate, Daryl Baker in 1996.

They came together after both being previously married, brought together a blended family of children and raised several fur babies (Dogs) together after their union.

She had two children of her own, Tessa Mullins (Clark) & Kain Thompson. Daryl also had 2 children, Chris & Kayla Baker.

She left behind those 4 now grown children and a combined 7 grandchildren all who loved her and will miss her very much.

Her memories and shared knowledge will be passed on from generation to generation, and she will never be forgotten in our family Tree.

Tammy was the youngest in the family and had 6 siblings whom she looked up to and adored all her life.

She was survived by 5 siblings, their spouses and several nieces and nephews who adored their “Crazy Aunt Tammy.” Edward (Arnell) Finley, Ted (Julie) Finley, Jody (Jerry) Sisk, Glen (Sara) Clark, Sherry (Dale) Perkins.

She was predeceased by her brother Dale Finley.

She also leaves behind many other family members and very close friends that will cherish her for who she was in their lives. The family asks everyone to help keep the memory of her alive.

Tammy was born in Oregon but grew up in Hazleton and on the family farm in Jerome, both in southern Idaho. She was helpful to her parents and their ventures, including owning the Snug in Eden, hauling potatoes, working at the Valley Café and even the Pine Club.

She worked various jobs as she got older until the sickness took over. She also lived in many cities over the years throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Eventually she ended up in Mountain Home, Idaho where she passed away in the comfort of her own Home with her Husband (Daryl) and Daughter (Tessa) right by her side.

Tammy had a vivacious personality, could light up a room and had a knack for making those around her blush or laugh.

She loved to love people, animals, and nature. She loved people for who they were, and because she wished the best for them without guile or asking anything in return.

She was a delightful, generous, easy-going, and fun-loving human being. The world is a lessor place without her.

Tammy had a beautiful singing voice. She would often and lovingly sing songs to her children growing up and enjoyed entertaining a small crowd during karaoke at a local pub.

She read hundreds of books over the years, dabbled a little in crafts using her artistic abilities, and she always found at least a little bit of humor even in the darkest of days. The belly roll laughs, and happy tears will never be forgotten.

“So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned.” – Peter Pan

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the many physicians and nurses who participated in her care since her 1st diagnosis in 2008.

Also, Horizon Home Health & Hospice for their guidance and support for her last few weeks. Her family would’ve been lost without the support and care which they continue to provide her family during this grieving period.

Thank you to Rost Funeral Home for caring for her in the afterlife and making the tough decisions a little easier.

Tammy had asked to be cremated, and so she has been. The family has plans to spread a part of her ashes in the mountains where they often went camping, fishing, RZR Riding and enjoyed the peaceful beauty of nature.

The family also has decided to create Parting Stones out of her ashes to share with Family & Friends who wish to keep a part of her nearby.

A Memorial Plaque will be created in the upcoming months and placed in her Hometown Hazelton, ID so her loved ones have a dedicated place to visit her. Details will be shared at a later date.

Tammy’s Daughter has adventures planned that her mom always expressed she wanted to see but couldn’t travel to while sick. Tessa will take her on journeys to the beach where the Monkeys play to fulfill that wish the best she can.

All those who are able or wish to attend are invited to join:
