TAMMY's obituary

Tammy Dawn Alston, 59, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away on September 17, 2023. She was born on April 3, 1964, in Clark County, Nevada. Tammy was a devoted wife to her husband, Gregory "Lynn" Alston, for 35 years. She found great joy in their shared love for fishing and embarking on memorable trips together. Tammy enjoyed cooking, and her home was always filled with delicious food, welcoming anyone who stopped by for a visit.

Tammy had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Gizmo, who has since crossed the rainbow bridge. She cherished the memories they shared and often found solace in the little reminders of him. Tammy also leaves behind her cat, Misty, as her faithful companion.

In addition to her husband, Tammy is survived by her son, Michael Lee Williams (Wendy), and her daughter, Stacy Renee Williams (Josh). She was a loving daughter to Judy Oakley and stepfather Wayne Brewer. Tammy shared a close bond with her sisters, Pamela Daly (Pat), and sister Nikki Brewer (Nick). She took tremendous pride in her role as a mawmaw to Connor, Makenna, Jackson, and Seth. Tammy will be deeply missed by her nieces, Andrea, Gracee, Madison, and nephew, Brandon. She is also survived also by several aunts, cousins, and her special loving friends, Greg and Edna Goines.

A traditional funeral service will be held at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located at 9112 Bethel Hickory Grove Church Rd, Chapel Hill, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:00pm, followed by the funeral at 1:00pm. Tammy will be laid to rest at the church cemetery. The family will also be at the home of Pam Daly, 1361 Long Dairy Ct. Graham, NCfor family and friends to also pay respects to the family. The compassionate staff at Jones Funeral Home in Chapel Hill will be assisting with the arrangements.

Tammy Dawn Alston will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, and her adventurous spirit. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
