With our deepest regrets, Talula passed away on May 24, 2024 at the age of 12, following a year long battle with Leukemia.

Talula Zetta Reicker was born in San Francisco on February 5, 2012 to her parents, Rick and Zetta Reicker, weighing only 6 lbs and 6 ounces. She was an only child, beloved by her friends and family.

We are grateful for the role you all played in Talula's life, and know that if you are reading this she brought love, and joy, loyalty and kindness, or maybe just an inspiring and tenacious fight against an insurmountable illness.

To all our family, friends, neighbors, friend's of Talula and their parents, caregivers at Kaiser, UCSF and the George Mark, our Employers and Employees that may not have known her well but participated in her life in one form or another, and showed our family so much compassion throughout her life and treatment.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your friendship, love, kindness, and generosity.

We invite you to share your special memories of Lulu at her celebration of Life, and also in the memory tab of this memorial site. If you are coming in from our of town we can help recommend nearby hotels. The Lafayette Park hotel is excellent but there are many other options in Walnut Creek and Danville.

This blog was written in part to help others out there that may be dealing with a new Leukemia diagnosis, but also to journal my memory of events. If you have not been close in the loop, this will answer many questions. It also links to Zetta's Caring Bridge blog which is a beautiful accounting of our experience within the community invited to this site.

Update from Aug. 10, 2024

Hello friends and family,

A few last reminders as we approach Lulu's Celebration of Life.

1.) While we are requesting folks dress colorfully, and if you have one, PLEASE BRING ALONG YOUR LULU ALLIANCE T-SHIRT - we will change put those on and take a group photo with the alliance after the ceremony. It's fine for kids to wear them from the start if easier.

2.) If you have favorite pictures of Talula printed, we will have a place to share and display them. If you have digitals you would like to share, please post them here: https://rb.gy/hs8cix

3.) We encourage everyone to think of and share a short favorite memory or story of Talula should you be so inclined.

4.) Reminder - Doors open at 9:30am. There is ample church parking as well as street parking. However, on the off chance the parking is full, there is overflow parking at the medical center next to the church (the church and the medical offices have a weekend agreement).

Folks, this is just an FYI that the Danville church doors will open ~9:30am - there will be a little time to socialize, with coffee & tea etc., before we start and we'll serve some lite snacks that were favorites of Lulu's after we are done with the ceremony and speeches part of the celebration.
