Sylvia's obituary

Sylvia R Cox passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter and grandson's by her side early Thanksgiving morning, November 25, 2021. She was a fighter, but eventually succumbed after battling 10 long months of Stage 4 Cancer. She was a beloved grandmother, mother, daughter, sister,  aunt, cousin, niece and friend. Mom was a caring, loving soul, independent and a very hard worker who loved and praised God every chance she could. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Her memory and knowing that she is no longer in pain and is praising God with the angels gives those of us left behind the peace we need to move forward living in Faith as she requested.

She is survived by her son, Richard E Shaw, daughter Vanessa L Cox (grandson's Xavier and Markell), mother Sylvia A Graves (Ron Graves), father Bobbie E Shaw, brother Bobbie Shaw Jr, sisters Celia (Darlene) Hammans (Frank Hammans), Teresa Stewart (Jerry Stewart), nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her loving  sister Elvia Pearson Shaw(2004).

Psalm 57:7-11

My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!

Wake up, my heart!

Wake up,  O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song.

I will thank you, LORD,  among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations.

For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.  Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.
