Sylvia Jeanne Cockerham, aged 81, passed away in her home on December 21, 2025, in Irving, TX. Born on December 24, 1943, Sylvia dedicated her life to nurturing young minds as an elementary school teacher, a career that reflected her joyful spirit and love for learning.

Sylvia leaves behind a loving family, including her sons Michael (and wife Sherry), Tim (and wife Mandi), and David (and wife Shoshana); granddaughters Kelsey, Hannah, and Kendall; and her younger sisters, Linda Hoffman and Debbie Kuperman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Doris Burns.

Throughout her life, Sylvia found joy in traveling and reading, hobbies that allowed her to explore worlds beyond her immediate surroundings. Her legacy as a teacher and her passion for literature have left indelible marks on those she taught and loved.

A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held at West Fork Village in Irving, TX, on Saturday, 1/17/26 at 2:30 PM. Those wishing to share memories of how she touched their lives are welcome to attend.
