Syed's obituary
Syed Muhammad Hussein, 83, of Westminster, California, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Syed was born in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India on June 10, 1939, the second son of Syed and Rukaiya Hussein. Soon after, the family moved to Mumbai, India, and then to Pakistan. At the age of 24, he decided to move westward and move to London, England. He graduated from the University of West London and began his career in accounting. While working as an auditor for a large accounting firm in London, he met the love of his life, Nikki Antona. They quickly developed a friendship as they continued to work closely together. Their friendship blossomed, and she soon became his soulmate and inseparable beloved wife of 47 years. They were blessed with their only child, Alexander, who has many of Syed's (good) traits. Syed, Nikki, and Alex immigrated to the United States in 1979, eventually settling in Westminster, California.
His greatest passion was for his wife and family. Along with being a lifelong, avid tinkerer, he enjoyed sailing, playing, and watching a lot of tennis, including endless reruns of previous years' grand slam tournaments.
Syed was a devoted father and husband always wanting the best for his family. An adventurer at heart; always taking his family on an annual vacation, building countless memories, and sharing unforgettable experiences. He was always known as "the life of the party" at gatherings. And if you knew him, he was a talker. We will never forget his charm, wit, kindness, and the "twinkle in his eye," as Nikki used to say.
Syed is survived by his loving son, Alex (Kerry) and his brother Firoz, and preceded in death by his wife, Nikki, and his brother, Yusuf. A cherished brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many, Syed will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Burial is scheduled at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Syed's life.
