Svetlana “Lana” Babich, 48, of East Brunswick, New Jersey, passed away at home on Saturday, April 25, 2020 after a long journey with cancer.

Lana was born on March 29, 1972 in Moldova. While studying at the National Pedagogical Drahomanov University in Kyiv, Ukraine Lana met her future husband Ruslan. Marriage came soon thereafter, as did their first child Yaroslav in 1992. In 1998, Lana and Ruslan moved to the United States in order to find a better life for their family. In 2001, Lana and Ruslan welcomed their second child Jessica.

Throughout her life, Lana was a tireless worker. Between keeping her home in order and raising her children, Lana found time to devote nearly twenty years to Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In her spare time, Lana enjoyed gardening, cooking, and interior decorating.

She is survived by her husband Ruslan (52), son Yaroslav (28), and daughter Jessica (18). Her family has found support through all of Lana’s wonderful relatives, friends, and coworkers. Their love for Lana truly embodies what a wonderful person she was and remains to be.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, no service will be held. Per Lana’s wishes, her ashes will remain in care of her family so she can be with them regardless of where life takes them.
