Suzanne's obituary
Suzanne Mueller MacIntyre, a stalwart in the field of education and a beloved family member, passed away on August 19, 2025. She was born on April 14, 1947, embodying a spirit that was kind, fun, caring, loving, competitive, resilient, and a fighter throughout the course of her life.
Suzanne began her illustrious career in 1972 as an educator at East Stroudsburg University. Her passion for teaching and growth led her to acquire a doctorate from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA in 1997. She marked the end of her professional journey in 2008 with retirement from her position as a professor emeritus at East Stroudsburg University. Upon retiring, she continued to share her expertise through lectures and co-authoring a textbook titled Developmental Physical Education for All Children.
Her marriage to Norman L. MacIntyre in 2013 was a true blessing to her and her family. Norman was very important to her in their time together and exemplified a caring, loving, and understanding husband.
Suzanne held a special love for travel, butterflies, gymnastics, Robert Redford, and The Beatles, their music a testament to her fun and spirited personality. Suzanne left behind lessons in professionalism and how to be the best teacher, principles she embodied throughout her life. Her legacy will be one of love and care, affecting everyone who knew her.
Suzanne is survived by her son Rudy Kirk Mueller, her daughter-in-law Annette Mueller, grandsons Colton and Zane Mueller, brothers Bill (Judy) and Peter (Laurie) Schultz, her nephew Billy Schultz, niece April (Matt) Schumann, and her nephews Peter and Willow Schultz. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman L. MacIntyre, and her parents, William and Barbara Schultz. Norman's family, Jennifer (Allen) Flogel, Angeline Flogel, Jamie Flogel, and Becky (Jimmy) Knight, as well as Rudy’s family, Cheryl (John) Kite, Thomas, Michael, and Kelsey Kite, also mourn the loss of Suzanne.

Please RSVP if you plan on joining in the celebration of life for Suzanne Mueller MacIntyre, which will be held on September 27th at 1 pm EST at East Stroudsburg University's Innovation Center. We will gather on the third floor, enjoying food, drinks, and acoustic music, sharing stories, and laughing. We will dedicate a brief period for family and friends to share their stories, and we will conclude by 3 pm.
Suzanne will be remembered for her infectious kindness and spirit and leaves behind an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege to call her a family member, friend, colleague, and mentor.
