Sue's obituary
Suzanne Lee Haynes-Feldman, born May 6, 1947, passed as she wished—at home, surrounded by her loved ones—on January 6, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sue was the second child born to Lealen Haynes and Barbara (Burch) Haynes in Yuma County, Arizona. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to San Diego, California, which she called home for over 50 years before finally settling in Las Vegas in 2005.
After leaving home at just 14, she graduated from Point Loma High School, Class of 1965. She also attended cosmetology school, where she developed her love of hair and nails. Sue had many passions, including photography, fashion, scuba diving, jewelry making, and caring for others.
Sue loved people—so much so that she made a fulfilling, lifelong career of it. She began working for Pacific Southwest Airlines at the front counter before moving to their VIP desk. Sue later worked as an event coordinator and director for San Diego City Wide Events and The Hop Entertainment. During her time in Las Vegas, she worked as a card room concierge before pivoting back to special events and VIP services coordination, retiring medically in 2022.
She also dedicated countless hours to charitable work, including Toys for Tots, serving as a spokesperson for the National Congress of American Indians, and fundraising for the Christian Communications Network.
Sue will be remembered for her deep compassion and understanding of others. She was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was wonderfully kind and thoughtful; witty and funny; charismatic and a natural problem-solver. She was also incredibly strong, defying all odds in her battle with cancer.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her parents, Lealen and Barbara; and her great-aunt, Etta. She leaves behind her two sons, Jason and James; her daughter, Alicia; her grandchildren, Suzan, Samantha, Salise, Malina, Raven, and Vaughn; her brother, Ira; her beloved pups, Rocket and Rollie; and many others whose lives she touched during her time on Earth before returning to be with the angels
