Suzanne Irl Darland, age 69, of Warren, Michigan passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1956, in Madison, Tennessee to the late Aubrey and Goldie (Alcock) Ramsey.

Suzanne was raised in Caro, Michigan, and graduated from Caro High School in 1974. She worked in several administrative roles throughout her career with her longest employment at Palmer Promotional Products. She married Steve Darland on Valentine’s Day of 1994 in Mayville, Michigan.

Suzanne especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She filled every room with her big smile, contagious laugh, and warm presence. Common names of Suzanne included Sue, Suzy Q, Roadkill Rita, and Gram. She regularly enjoyed playing cards with friends. She had many great memories of bowling, spending time with her dear friends, daughter, and grandchildren, eating out at her favorite places, and baking Christmas goodies for her loved ones. You would often see Suzanne talking to friends and family through her phone earpiece while driving in her beloved Chevy Trailblazer. When describing Suzanne, words that are echoed include selfless, motherly, fierce, wise, positive, and compassionate. She provided a listening ear for anyone who needed it. Her outlook on life was like no other, and she will be terribly missed by many.

Suzanne is survived by her daughter Dannielle (Chris) Vasquez and her grandchildren Victor (Autumn) and Jason Vasquez. She is also survived by her parents-in-law, Ed and Marilyn Darland, and her brother and sister-in-law Craig (Barbie) Darland and Julie (Brian) Pollak. She leaves behind many close friends as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law Christopher Vasquez.

A celebration to honor Suzanne’s life will begin Friday, February 14, 2025, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home. Visitation will also be available Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with the memorial service starting at 11 a.m. at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, address 2125 12 Mile Rd., Berkley, Michigan 48072. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vasquez family to cover funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated.
