Susian's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susian B. Jones, who departed this life on April 1, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Born on November 13, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Louis Bourda and Mary Verdell Smith, Susian lived a life defined by devotion to her family, dedication to her work, and generosity toward all who knew her.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Susian will forever remember her bright smile that could light up any room. Her warmth and kind heart touched countless lives, and her genuine compassion for others made everyone feel valued and loved in her presence.
Susian dedicated 36 years of her professional life to AT&T before retiring, later continuing her career with Bank of America for an additional 14 years. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of her character throughout her professional journey.
Above all else, Susian treasured family. The love she had for her family was boundless and unconditional. She took great pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, sister, and wife, creating a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come.
Susian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton Jones Jr., and her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Nadina D. Platenburg; her adoring grandchildren, Alexia Platenburg, Bria Herring, and Brian Platenburg; her loving siblings, Shirley Bourda, Louise Daniels, and Dianne B. Reimonenq; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who were blessed to have her in their lives.
Susian's legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though her bright smile will be deeply missed, the beautiful memories she created will forever remain in our hearts.
