Susan Jane Thomas, 88, of Hollidaysburg, PA, passed away on December 09, 2022 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. 

Susan was born on September 23,1934 to the late Marshal C. and Hazel A. (Green) Shope in Altoona,PA. She graduated from Altoona  High School in  1952. Susan married the love of her life, the late Kenneth Ray Thomas Sr. on December 8, 1952, going on to have 8 amazing children; Jeanne Petite  (Bill) of Texas, Kenneth Thomas II (Judy) of Hollidaysburg, Lee Ann Bell (Tim) of Virginia, Ellen Jackson (Lew) of Maryland , Rebecca Gampe (Mike) of Hollidaysburg and Bonnie Wood (Jamie) of Hollidaysburg, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Scott and Cindy Lou.  Susan dedicate her life to being a wonderful homemaker and  mother. Her mission in life was her family, she was the matriarch of the family always being passionate and supportive no matter what. Susan was a wonderful seamstress and had a love of raising and showing German Shepherds, when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her sewing room or out in the kennel area with her dogs. We will miss her greatly. In addition to her parents, her husband and two daughter’s, Susan was preceded in death her sister’s, Marcella Shope and Alene May. She is also survived by a son- in-law Ed Scott and a special brother and sister-in-law  David and Frances Rider.  The family requests donations to be made to The  American Alzheimer Association.  At the request of the deceased, there will be a private family memorial service at the convenience of the family.
