Background
My mom, Susan, for many years has battled mental illness. She lived a tough life but always managed to persevere. Even when the cards may have felt stacked against her she kept getting back up.
She will always be remembered for her HUGE kind heart and was loved by many. She will be missed.
For 20+ years, Options for Community Living provided her with stability and the ability to live independently while still receiving the services she needed.
Options for Community Living, Inc. provides housing, support services, and care coordination for people recovering from mental illness and those living with HIV/AIDS or other chronic health conditions. Many of the people we serve were formerly homeless. Options is a private not-for-profit agency, operating on Long Island since 1982. Our goal is to help each program participant and family find stability, improved health and the tools to build productive self-sufficient lives as community members."
Donations to this organization will help others that need these services like my mom did.
