What a beautiful life! Glad to learn more about her here as I wont be able to attend the fellowship with loved ones.

I met Rene just once while volunteering in childcare this past May. Her joyous love for the children was astounding and contagious. in between singing Bible songs to the children, she spoke gaily about each of her children and grandchildren.  I'm so grateful I got to meet her before she went Home. Such a special soul.

As Coordinator for our Woodbridge CBS class, my table was right outside of the babies' room where Rene served.  She and I would arrive at the same time each Wednesday morning and she was always beaming with a smile because her babies would be arriving soon.  I would watch as the Moms dropped off their little ones so they could go to their classes.  When the babies saw Rene, their little arms would stretch out for her to pick them up.  They loved her and I know this gave great comfort to the Moms because they knew their babies would be well taken care of and loved while they attended class.  I knew Rene was suffering but she never let it show.  I believe that taking care of the little ones was "medicine" for her soul.  Her love of Jesus radiated from her face and she was our shining example of true faith in the Lord.

I have known Rene for many years, through Young Life and CBS.  What a great example she was to me.  Several months ago, we  arrived at CBS leadership at the same time... together, we took the elevator up, as the stairs were too hard for both of us - Rene due to cancer in her hip, and me due to Fibromyalgia.  Later that morning, during our prayer time, she prayed for ME, where as she was the one with the much more serious condition.  I was humbled by her love and selflessness.  My best to you all - her beautiful family that she loved so much!
