Susan's obituary
**Susan Lynn Hoye: A Life Celebrated**
It is with both heavy hearts and uplifted spirits that we announce the passing of Susan Lynn Hoye, a resilient soul who gracefully triumphed over her battle with Multiple Myeloma on April 12th, 2024. Susan's body may have succumbed, but her indomitable spirit, infectious kindness, and unwavering faith endure as everlasting testaments to a life well-lived caring for others.
Born on June 22, 1954, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Susan was the cherished daughter of George and Gloria Golightly. Raised in a nurturing and adventurous environment, Susan grew up surrounded by love, laying the foundation for the extraordinary life she would lead.
At a tender age, Susan encountered the love of her life, Warren Hoye, at a Sadie Hawkins dance in Tacoma, Washington in which they both realized they had brought the wrong dates. Their connection was instantaneous, and from that moment forward, they became inseparable. Shortly after their union, Warren enlisted in the Air Force, and Susan stood as his unwavering support throughout the challenges of being an enlisted spouse. Through deployments, TDYs, and relocations, Susan remained Warren's steadfast anchor in the storm.
Susan's calling in life was caring for others. From her own children, to neighborhood kids and strangers in need of a kind word. Susan never missed an opportunity to extend love and kindness to those around her. She would always have something to offer someone in need of some cheer or a smile. Her nurturing spirit; coupled with her passion for volunteering, led her to support humane societies and foster dogs. One of whom, a half-dead long-haired Chihuahua named Yoda, became an integral part of the family.
Susan is survived by her devoted spouse of 51 years, Warren Hoye, of Gig Harbor, WA. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Jeremy Hoye, and his wife Brittany Hoye of Albuquerque, NM. Stacey Hoye-Barnes, and her husband Christopher Barnes of Amarillo, Texas. She also loved and cherished her grandchildren: Cierra Janae Hoye, Camden Daniel Hoye, Collin David Barnes, and Callahan Bailey Barnes. Susan was predeceased by her loving parents, Gloria and George Golightly, and her sister Nora.
**Memorial: A Celebration of a Remarkable Life**
A celebration of Susan's extraordinary life will be held at a later date possibly to celebrate what would have been her 70th birthday in June. During the interim, the family requests continued prayers and checking in on Warren during this time of grief.
