Susan was an avid cross poster for the entire animal rescue community. She shared many pictures of shelter dogs desperately needing rescue on her FB page. Susan became a friend and supporter of my Brushy Creek Meadows Rescue here in East Texas. She understood that I was doing this all on my own out of my retirement income without outside donations and few pledges, so she regularly sent fleece blankets, food, pee pads, belly bands and little beds via Amazon. She always sent cheer, encouragement and caring via FB Messenger. Together, we rehomed over 200 little dogs that were at risk of euthanasia at the shelters. Rest easy my dear friend, you are in His arms now but you are missed.

My husband and I grieve with your family over the loss of Susan. She and I became friends in high school. She was a person with a bright and cheerful personality and she was fun to hang out with. The person she was is a testament to her parents, George and Gloria. They were one of the finest examples of a loving and committed couple that I had ever had the pleasure of knowing. I'm grateful that she and I kept in touch across the miles throughout our adult lives. There's a verse in the Bible that says, " I thank my God upon every remembrance of you" (Philippians 1:3, KJV). That is how I feel about knowing Susan and the friendship we had. In sympathy, love and prayers, Stephanie Garrison

Stacey, I feel like I know your mother by the many stories you shared with me. I know you loved her very much and she was such an inspiration to you. I'm so saddened for your family's loss. We all need our moms.
