Susan's obituary

Susan Hart, born on October 7, 1955, sadly passed away on March 8, 2025. A woman of warmth, ease and boundless joy, her life was a testimony to her fun-loving, wonderful spirit.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Benjamin, whom she married in September 1989. Susan was also predeceased by her dear brother, Michael. She is survived by her brother, Ross, her sister-in-law Anthea, her nephews Frank and Travis, her nieces Kayla, Jasmine and Casey, and her grandchildren James, Colton, Lincoln, Gwen, Piper, Preston & Oliver. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will dearly miss her.

Susan dedicated her career to serving others, spending many years at the WSIB as a Manager and Claims Adjudicator. She concluded her professional journey as a Worker Advisor at OWA, where she tirelessly and passionately advocated for the rights of injured workers in Ontario.

Susan had a great love for life, reflected through her recreational activities of gardening and reading. It was in these simple pleasures that she found moments of joy, spending hours in her garden surrounded by her cherished plants and beautiful flowers. Her love for fantasy novels was widely known, and she would sit for hours reading in her sun porch overlooking the lake with her dogs.

Volunteering at the French River Horticultural Society, Susan combined her love of nature and her desire to serve others. Her passion for gardening was not only a reflection of her love for beauty but also her belief in the transformative power of nature.

Dogs, or “fur babies” as she referred to them, held a special place in Susan's heart, and she actively advocated for animal rights. Her pets were part of her family, and she cherished the companionship of her dogs Daisy, Lucy, Hamish, Tuffy and Celeste.

Susan lived a full and meaningful life. Her warm and easy-going personality, coupled with her fun-loving nature, touched many lives - and she had a smile on her face until the end. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an enduring spirit of kindness.
