Susan's obituary
Susan Haney, born Susan Green on June 28, 1952, in London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after many long health battles. A longtime resident of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, she lived a life defined by kindness, quiet strength, and dedication to caring for others.
She was a caregiver to everyone she met — a woman whose love language was giving, feeding, and showing up. A fantastic cook, she poured her heart into every meal, believing that food was a way to comfort, to connect, and to express love. She raised three children, Mary Ann, David, and Jenny, and later raised her grandson Robert, who lovingly called her “Mom.” Throughout her life, she helped anyone who needed help.
She cared for her parents and siblings, babysat countless cousins, nieces, and nephews, and in her later years spent her days with her granddaughters, taking them on adventures and filling their childhoods with warmth and wonder. She was first and foremost a caretaker, but she also built a career cooking for many years at Countryside Nursing Home and even tried her hand at running her own pet store in the 1990s.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings. She is survived by the love of her life, Henry K. Haney, Jr., whom she married in August of 1985. From the moment they met, they were inseparable. She is also survived by her three children — Mary Ann Krueger of Waukesha; David (Renee) Krueger of Jefferson; and Jenny (James) Haight of Lake Mills — as well as seven grandchildren, three great‑grandchildren, three siblings, and more loved ones than can ever be counted.
At this time, no service is scheduled. The family is asking that donations be made to help support her final arrangements; contributions can be made online.
