Susan Marie "Suzy" Gemmett, 60, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Rochester, New York. Born on August 19, 1964, in Schenectady, New York, Sue lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
Sue is survived by her loving mother, Mary Jane Gemmett, and her father, Richard Gemmett (Lynn). She will be deeply missed by her brother, Gregory Gemmett, and her sister, Jacqueline Harris (Keith). She was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews: Jonathan Gemmett (Shari), Gabriel Gemmett, Robert Gemmett (Renee), Nicole Best (Tyler), Emily August (Brandon), and Christian Harris. Her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews—Courtney, Avery, MeKenzie, Ruby, Penelope, and Gregory—will always carry her love in their hearts.
Sue believed in happiness. She lived it, shared it, and made sure those around her felt it too. She was honest and loyal, fiercely devoted to family and friends. If you were one of Sue’s people, you knew it—she showed up for you, cared deeply, and never let you forget how much you mattered.
Sue had a deep love for the arts, especially theater. Her incredible singing voice could fill a room and lift spirits effortlessly. She adored the classics—whether in music or film—and had a sharp wit that made every conversation more entertaining. Her sarcastic humor could bring laughter even in the toughest moments.
Sue was quirky, unique, and completely unforgettable. She filled the world around her with joy and created the kind of moments that turn into treasured memories. Though losing her leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, she also left behind a legacy of love and laughter that will live on in all who knew her.
