Susan always remembered a birthday! Those of family, friends and colleagues. Every birthday was acknowledged when I worked with her at PeaceHealth. My first year there, my birthday snuck up quickly after I arrived and she found out about it on the day.  Somehow she manifested a card and small treat to celebrate the day.  She had a way of making sure everyone was seen, heard and valued. Thank you for  teaching me so much Susan and being an amazing role model! Happy Birthday wishes.

Today, on the third anniversary of Susan's passing, I wanted to take a look at this page and remember her. Yesterday, along with about 123 of my co-workers, I was laid off from Health Catalyst. It's been a weird day and a half and the feelings are very surreal. It feels like a dark time, but I had not experienced any deep emotions yet. But when I started to read Susan's notes that were shared among these memories, my feelings all boiled to the surface. I want her family to know that Susan's words are still touching and inspiring people! Her joyful, thoughtful, and beautiful words gave me the inspiration to see my situation for what it is, just another of those moments in life where we're presented with a turning point. It is up to us to decide which way to go and we often look back at these pivotal moments with gratitude that they happened when they did. So, for that gift, thank you Susan. You had this figured out. You've inspired me yet again.

Just this morning while walking my dog and contemplating the workplace and career development, I fell into a conversation with Susan in my mind. She asked me some excellent questions and gave great advice, as always! She will always be with us and continuing to share her beautiful spirit. I am so grateful and blessed to have known her. 💕
Susan was always more than a “daughter in law “, She could always be part of family celebrations but never gave up her goal,,, A degree in Health Care! Her husband encouraged and supported-her in that goal. They shared their love of music often,,,Jerry taught her to play. Guitar..an easy job! She was blessed with so much creativity and innovative ideas! She lives on in our hearts and memories , 🌠🌠🌠🎶🎶💕
One of the special things Susan and I shared was the love of quilting . We would share photos of our progress or ask if one of us had found a solution to a difficult pattern. For us, being able to give family members a quilt was like enveloping them in hugs, love and blessings. Her kindred spirit will continue because of how she touched all who knew her.

Susan had such a tremendous impact on me. From the first time I met her in Columbus, OH, I could tell she was a special person and an incredible leader. She took me on my first hike in the Wasatch mountains when I joined Health Catalyst. I'll never forget hiking down the ski trails with her that summer and I knew every word she spoke to me was a word of wisdom. She cared so much for her team. She believed in me and for that I am forever grateful. She will be so missed, and I hope you know how much she was loved.
Loved working with you and learning from you. Your gentle, kind spirit is missed.

One of the rare pictures I have of Susan, and it confirms her love of hiking! We had an AST leadership retreat and spent a couple hours hiking and refreshing in nature.

Susan was a very special lady with a huge heart, a gentle soul, and the warmest smile. That's what I will remember and I'm so thankful to call her family.

Susan was an inspiration to me from the first time I met her at Health Catalyst on one of her many visits to our Salt Lake City office. I had only been with the company for a few days when I first met her. Her incredible intelligence was only preceded by her genuine warmth and kindness. I'm blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Susan on many occasions and topics.

I tried to be more like Susan; she was (and is) a beautiful example for me to live by; I will not forget all that she taught me. I am also so grateful for the successes she brought our company. My warmest regards and condolences to Susan's family. Please know how much I and her entire Health Catalyst family truly loved her and how we will continue to cherish her memory.
Jennifer Joy - "Susan, my sister-in-law, was given a great capacity for loving others. Each person she knew on earth was touched by her golden heart. My brother, Jerry, was the recipient of her greatest love. Now, she is at home, safe in heaven with my Dad and others who went before her. My prayers are always with their children: Camille, Jesi, Ben and Lily. "

Susan was a spirited, loving and compassionate woman who I relished working- and laughing- with. I will always hold sweet memories of her close to my heart. Sweet blessings to her family.
Susan was such an inspiration to me. She is one of the most caring, kindest, smartest women I know. Every interaction with her was positive and a learning experience. She truly made this world a better place and impacted everyone she touched in a positive way. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones, may you find some peace in this difficult time, knowing Susan was so loved and admired.
I remember talking with Susan on the phone for the first time and thinking that she was truly a "kindred spirit". She was such a wonderful person and friend. I am a better person for knowing her and learning from her (I am sure that there are many who would say the same thing!). I loved her ability to see everything as an opportunity-- right to the end. I will truly miss my friend and send my condolences and wish you all find peace.
