Susan Cooley, 77, of Raytown, MO, passed away on November 26, 2024.

Susan was born on June 28, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated in 1965 from Raytown high school. Susan started her career as a dental assistant working alongside Nelson Farney, Harlan Hassan and Edwin Meyers. She had a passion for the dental industry also working at TMC in the dental lab and teaching dental assisting part time at a local college. 

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Maryanne Setzer and her grandson Jake Robel. She is survived by her husband, James Cooley, her daughters,  & Step Son. Anjanette Lopez Burch (Shaun Burch), Christy Lopez Miller, and Nicole Lopez Goodlow (Adrian Goodlow) and Step Son James Cooley (Nikki)  Susan has eleven grandchildren whom she adored: Brianna Scott, Jake Robel, Rhyan Crowder, Layla Williams, Alivia Goodlow, Ava Miller, Nina Goodlow, Corbyn, Caytlyn, Spencer and Skylar. Susan was also blessed with five great grandchildren: Eva, Jax, Mila, Whitten and Sevyn. Susan also leaves behind her siblings, Karen Hoffmann, Candy Overbay, Michael Setzer and eight nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. 

Susan was loyal to her faith and was a member of Ivanhoe United Church of Christ for over 35 years where she built so many great relationships. Susan was dedicated to her family, especially her grand daughters and had a special bond with each of them and they will miss her deeply. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13, at 11:00 am at Ivanhoe United Church of Christ in Raytown, MO.
