Sue's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan "Sue" Cole Hawk, born March 10, 1959, who left Earth and went to live with Jesus on March 2, 2024. Her indomitable spirit and loving personality will leave a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Sue, better known as "Suzie" to her parents and siblings, was born to Edward Kenneth Cole, and Rosemary Agnes Carbone of Streator, Illinois. After graduating from Streator High School, Sue went on to earn her degree in Secretarial Science from Illinois Valley Community College. Sue moved to Texas and began her career with State Farm Insurance, followed by 18 years at GTS Technology Solutions as the Contracts Manager.

Sue leaves behind a loving family who were her greatest joy. She is survived by her children, Travis Hawk, Kelsey (Justin) Easton and Katelyn Hawk; her cherished grandchildren, Carter, Cole, Crew Easton, and Hudson and Braylie Hawk. She also leaves behind her siblings Edward (Sherry) Cole, James (Mary) Cole, and Caron (Janie) Cole. Sue is also survived by many brother and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews. Sue's love for her family was boundless, and her greatest joy was seeing them all grow and thrive.

Sue is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward and Rosemary Cole, her brother David Cole, her grandmother Emma Carbone, sister-in-law Mechelle Hawk, and mother-in-law Betty Hawk.

Sue was known for her genuine kindness, strength, and independence. She was a firm believer in treating others as one would like to be treated, a lesson she eagerly passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her legacy of determination and love will continue to inspire all who knew her, even in her absence.

In life, Sue had a vibrant personality that shone through in her love for the Kansas City Chiefs (Wreck 'Em Mahomes!), her taste for steak, tenderloins and Diet Coke, and her fondness for the color red. Her love for traveling led her to many amazing places, with Hawaii being her most cherished vacation spot. But perhaps the best of times were those spent with her family, as Sue found immense joy in the company of her loved ones.

Heaven has certainly gained a wonderful angel. As we remember Sue, we also celebrate her life and the love she so freely gave. Her drive to consistently work hard and do anything she set her mind to, will remain in our hearts, serving as a constant reminder of Sue's incredible spirit.

Sue's Celebration of Life will be held at The Grove Church in Liberty Hill, TX on April 2nd, 2024 at 2:00 PM with a light reception to follow. If you plan to attend, her family asks that you wear bright colors to represent the light and joy she brought to all of our lives.
