Susan's obituary
Susan Linda Camacho (Emmons) of Allen, TX, passed away on May 2nd, 2025, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of Frank (Tex) Camacho; mother of Kenneth Hansen (Amy) and Shannan Crider; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Hansen. Six cherished grandchildren survive her: Elizabeth Hansen, Trenton Crider, Trinity Crider, Aiden Crider, Tanner Hansen, and Abel Crider, and her brother, Charles Emmons, Jr (Carol) of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by many cousins. Susan's parents, Charles and Dorothy Emmons, her son Gregory Hansen, sister Nancy Emmons Pennington, and first husband Rick Hansen predeceased her.
Susan was born in Blue Island, IL (Chicago suburb) on July 5, 1946, and as an infant moved to Phoenix, AZ before her family settled in Dallas, TX in 1951. She graduated from Bryan Adams HS, where she was active in the choir. Susan worked with her mother for over twenty years at Metro-Factors, a company founded by her uncle, Henry Wichmann.
Susan passionately lived for her family and provided inspiration for family reunions and as an organizer for family celebrations. An avid game player, she and Tex found happiness together traveling and playing cards. Susan donated her body to the Texas A&M School of Dentistry in Dallas, TX.
A Celebration of Life for Susan will be held at Eastfield Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX, at 10 am on May 26th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Susan's memory be honored through donations to Hope For The Warriors, an organization that provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources.
