Susan's obituary
Susan Besednjak, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, passed away gracefully on April 26, 2026. Born on June 5, 1956, Susan lived a life that was characterized by love, generosity, and a magnetic spirit that drew people to her. A force to reckon with, she touched the lives of many with her authenticity, nurturing nature, intelligence, and compassionate personality.
Susan's legacy of kindness and generosity will forever be remembered and echoes the lessons she selflessly shared: to help others. As a devoted Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, and Sunday School Teacher, Susan was a beacon of guidance and a confidant for many young minds. Her genuine caring nature and outgoing personality made her a pillar of the communities she was part of.
Susan is survived by her loving family. Her daughters, Vanessa Petrakos and Erica Besednjak, her son, Scott Besednjak, her sister, Carol Csuti, her brother, Drew Smith, as well as her ex-husband, Zvonko Besednjak. She was the proud grandmother to Gabriel, Scott Alexander, Mason Besednjak, Vincent and Braxton Petrakos. Her family extends to her brother-in-law, Michael Csuti, sister-in-law, Kathy Smith, and cousin, Bobby Kelling.
Susan was predeceased by her mother, Lois Hail, her aunt, Elaine Kelling, and uncle, Robert Kelling. Each of these family members had a special place in Susan's heart, as did everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Susan's passing is a profound loss, but the love, lessons, and memories she left behind will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched, reminding us all of the enduring power of love, compassion, and generosity.
