Susan's obituary
SUSAN M. BAXTER, "BAA", age 76, of Sherwood, Ark., died Friday, August 18, 2023, due to complications from lung cancer. She was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on November 4, 1946. She is the daughter of the late Harry and Emily Hanson Morin. She is preceded in death by her parents and all siblings: a sister and three brothers. She is survived by her most precious partner of forty three years, Rose Eiza of Sherwood, Ark.; and beloved son, Chris Baxter, (Kerry) of Ward, Ark.; her grandchildren, Bethany Kidd (Corbin) of Cabot, Ark., Alana Baxter (PJ) of Little Rock, Ark., and Gage Turner (Jessica) of Ward, Ark.; and her two (and a half) great-grandchildren. Most days you could find Susan soaking up the sun on her patio watching the birds and tending to her yard and plants. She loved doing anything outdoors, especially if it involved camping with Rose. Susan and Rose had many adventures over their 43 years together. In their early years, they battled Rose's lymphatic cancer. Knowing how precious their time was together, they lived life to the fullest. Susan's love of the ocean also led to her love of dolphins. During their travels, Susan got a chance to swim with the dolphins, she enjoyed playing slots at the casinos (where she played with her secret stash), and eating crab legs and shrimp on the gulf, where they spent much of their time. Susan never met a stranger. This was evident by the deep friendships she made with her camping community at Bay St. Louis, Mo., and their friends and neighbors. It was her son, Chris, and two grandchildren, Bethany and Alana, whom she also cherished so deeply. While she courageously battled lung cancer, her passing was sudden and unexpected. She will be greatly missed.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations toward Susan's other love, animals, and the ASPCA at https://secure.aspca.org/dona….
