She was my #TEACH advisor and she was incredible. I was grieving 2 students after my 1st year teaching and had other personal set backs, and she never once gave up one me or wavered in her support. She would check on me as a person not just my coursework. I was so saddened when I was assigned a new advisor and now I’m even worse knowing this is why. I never met her in person but she was amazing at her job and had a giving and caring heart. Miss you Summer!!
I learned her love was unconditional, her knowledge was unmatched for a young lady, and her drive and determination as a teacher was what a student will always remember. If she got to just one out of ten it was a win. I’m pretty sure she inspired many more than one. She came into our lives about 20 some years ago and made a wonderful life with our son. Also gave birth to our beautiful granddaughter Alyssa. Her passing has left an enormous impact on our lives. We love you Summer and we will miss you so very much. I hope my spelling and punctuation are correct, cause I know you will let me know if it wasn’t, some day. May you rest now sweet girl.
I met Summer at Appstate, she was the most friendly person I met, mi hermanita. She made sure I experienced all the best during my year in Boone, she taught me how to carve a pumpkin, how to ride a sleigh, how to just have fun. Summer you were my little sis, I always dreamed about the day you would visit me in Costa Rica, I had so many plans! You left so soon hermanita.
