Dr. Sumit Roy (1956 - 1960 B.E. College) was one year senior to me in the Electrical Engineering Department, Bengal Engineering College. We met almost everyday in the department. Sumitda was surrounded by a few of his classmates, Kanjilal, Meekee,  and others. Sorry I forgot the names of his friends. He was a good student and excelled in his graduating EE 1960 class. Although, I did not have much interactions with him then, he was my hero at the B. E. College (1957 - 1961). Sumitda was calm and quiet and liked by his classmates as well as his professors at the B.E. College. I came to the University of Florida for graduate studies in Electrical Engineering in 1963 and lost contact with Sumitda. However, I met Sumitda at the annual Bengali Conferences and had short chats with him when I got a chance and talked about the past at the B. E. College. We all are deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Sumitda. We would like to express our sincere condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace! Syama and Santwana Chaudhuri, 61 EE B.E.
