Steven's obituary

Steven Eugene Richmond, 75, of El Reno, OK, passed away on March 14th, 2025 surrounded in peace, comfort, and love by his loved ones in Oklahoma City, OK.

Steven Eugene Richmond was born on September 3rd, 1949 in Houston, Texas to Audrey (Thornton) Hutchison and Howard Richmond. He spent many years as a dedicated pilot before sharing his passion for aviation as a flight instructor, guiding and inspiring others to take to the skies. In his later years, Steve shared many stories of his time as the pilot for many rock and roll bands, including Bon Jovi, a period that held a special place in his heart.

As we reflect on his life, we are reminded of the words of Keep the Faith by Bon Jovi, a song that always carried deep meaning for him:

“You know you're gonna live through the rain

Lord, we've gotta keep the faith

Don't you let your love turn to hate

Now we've gotta keep the faith” -Bon Jovi

A man of deep faith, Steve was God-fearing and lived with love and devotion to his family. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and always placed them at the center of his life. Steve loved the simple things in life—whether watching his favorite cop shows, cooking up a delicious meal for those he loved, or lounging with his sweet pup, Sheba.

He is survived by his children, Ashley Richmond, Alexa (Richmond) Moerbe, Kyle Zander, Grant Zander, Garth Zander, and Garrett Zander; his grandchildren, Ryan Kerr, Brandon Kerr, Jaiden Kerr, Ryleigh Moerbe, Emma Moerbe, Rhett Moerbe, and great-granddaughter, Amelia Kerr; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will cherish his memory forever. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Richmond, his parents, Audrey and Howard; his sister, Linda (Richmond) Washington; and his great-granddaughter Adalynn Kerr.

A celebration of life will be held on April 26th, 2025 at 1 p.m. at San Antonio International Airport.

Romans 6:23 – "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

In God’s grace, Steven now rests in the eternal life promised through faith.
