Steven's obituary

Steven Edward Ribolin, 70, of Orland, California, passed away on November 29, 2023, in Orland, California. He was born on October 30, 1953, in Placerville, California.

Steve, known to his loved ones as a dedicated and loving father, is survived by his daughters, Zully Paul (Bobby) and Desirée Coffman (Aaron), his son Rion Ribolin (Mindy), and his grandson Brandon Cimicata. He is also survived by his brother Danny Ribolin and nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his father David Ribolin, mother Betty Campbell, and sister Sandy House.

Steve attended San Juan High School in Citrus Heights, California, and later continued his education at American River College and Chico State before pursuing his future career at Butte College Police Academy.

Steve proudly served his country in the US Navy, where he displayed unwavering dedication and commitment. His military associations shaped him into the honorable and disciplined individual that he was.

Following his military service, Steve worked various jobs before dedicating his career to serving his community. He worked as a Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputy from March 1979 to May 1980 and went on to work as a Police Officer for the City of Orland from June 1980 to February 2001, making his time serving the community 21 years.

Outside of his professional life, Steve had a passion for four-wheel driving in his 1985 CJ-7 Jeep Wrangler, which allowed him to explore and appreciate the great outdoors. He did so every summer while attending the Jeeper’s Jamboree where he proudly served as part of the cook crew and was known by the crew as “Slim”. He looked forward to it every year while customizing his Jeep to get through the rugged terrain.

He was also a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers and we’ll always remember the way he said “Go Niners!” and “Touchdown, Yeah Baby!”

Steve was married to Teresa “Tere” Raygoza-Ribolin from 1982 to 2018. Tere remained a constant source of loving care and support for Steve until the very end, never giving up on helping him through his health battles and bringing him back home to Orland.

Steve retired from the police force in 2001 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1999. After a successful surgery, he spent his retirement surrounded by loved ones and his sweet pups, Boomer and Bugsy.

Memorial services for Steve are pending and will be announced soon. This will be an opportunity for family, friends, and colleagues to come together and pay their respects to a remarkable man.

The Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary in Orland, California, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Steven Edward Ribolin will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
