Steven Ignacio Ortiz Obituary

Steven Ortiz, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 19, 2020, in Chandler, AZ at the age of 73.

Steve was born on November 12, 1946, in Mesa, AZ to parents Ignacio and Mary Ortiz. He attended Chandler High School and later served in the U.S. Marines Corp. during the Vietnam War from 1965 through 1968, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and received several medals for his service, including the Purple Heart, Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Medal, and Rifle Marksman Badge.

Steve had three beautiful children, Alicia, Jennifer, and Steven, with wife Becky. Those who knew Steve were blessed by his kind spirit and unwavering love for his family. Steve's family was his greatest joy, and he always spoke fondly of them. He is survived by his sisters, Dolores, Anna, Felicia, and brother Tony.

Honor Guard presided over a memorial service, and Taps was blown at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, followed by burial in Cave Creek, AZ.
