Steven Michael McCarty passed away on November 9, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by his wife and children. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Steve later made his home in both Wisconsin and Colorado, though Wisconsin was always the place that held his heart.

Steve lived life with a quiet joy and a deep appreciation for the simple things. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace in fishing and hunting, and he loved nothing more than being outside in the fresh air. He was equally at home in the kitchen, where his cooking and baking brought warmth and comfort to the people he loved.

A gifted carpenter and natural builder, Steve spent forty years running his own contracting business. He took pride in every project, large or small, and approached his work with skill, patience, and creativity.

Above all, Steve cherished his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, and his granddaughter Mae brought him endless happiness.

Steve is survived by his wife Elaine; his son Sean and wife Lindsay; his daughter Danielle and future husband Kyle; and his sister Keli and her husband David. He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia.

In keeping with Steve’s spirit, his family plans to hold a light-hearted celebration of life after the holidays. Details will be shared at a later date.

Steve will be remembered as a man who loved fully, worked with his hands, found joy in everyday moments, and carried a steady, genuine kindness that touched everyone who knew him.
