Steven's obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Norman Lemieux announce his passing. Forever remembered and always loved.

Steven passed away on January 25, 2023 at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with heart failure. He was surrounded by the love of family and friends who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Steven leaves his wife of 18 years, Catherine (Mossbarger) Lemieux; his son, Matthew Lemieux (Jia fang Xie), stepdaughter Nicole Lynch (Morgan Lynch), stepson Greg (Michele), grandchildren Hannah and Samantha Lemieux, Sutton and Delaney Lynch, Leo, August, and Solomon.

Steven is survived by his brother, Andrew Lemieux (Shana Richards), sister in law Karen (Williams) Lemieux and their three children Timothy, Katherine, and Kevin Lemieux. Steven was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Brenda (Gross) Lemieux, younger brother Bruce Lemieux, and nephew Ryan King.

Steven was born July 13, 1959 in Leominster, Massachusetts. He was the first son of Raymond and Brenda Lemieux. Steven attended Cushing Academy in Ashburnham Massachusetts. After Graduation, he attended Dickinson College and Fitchburg State where he studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Information Technology.

Steven was a database marketing project manager for several marquee companies before retiring in 2012 and focusing on creative efforts such as art, handcrafted jewelry and music.

Steven was, and forever will be a wonderful combination of wit, intellect, charm, and irreverence. He had a work ethic like I have never seen and yet he was so damn fun to party with. I bought him a sign that said "Work Like a Captain and Play Like a Pirate!" It was just the epitome of who he was! As an avid guitar player and lover of music, Steven's "long strange trip" included 85 Grateful Dead concerts, and many others, accompanied by his friends and family. Whether he was noodling on his guitar or listening to live bands jamming, he found something ethereal in the notes that made the stresses of life fall away and he always wanted to share that love of music with others.

Steven made me laugh and smile everyday. I was so lucky to have met and married him, and my life will be forever changed for having been with him. I just can't imagine my world without Steven! Always living life to the fullest, Steven brought joy and laughter to all who crossed his path. With a heart of gold and a mischievous twinkle in his eye he made every day an adventure. Steven loved his family and his friends so much. We will continue to take care of each other until we meet again!

A celebration of Steven's life will occur at a later date to be announced by his family.
