Steven's obituary
Steven left us on September 20th at age 35. Our hearts are broken, and we miss him intensely. Steven had a deep interest in race cars and racing beginning with his first Hot Wheels cars as a child. Over the years he had opportunities to rub elbows with some famous drivers, try his hand for a few seasons in competitive go-kart road racing, and worked behind the scenes at the Milwaukee Mile races. He combined his racing passion with on-line gaming and earned a spot as 1 of only 3 Americans to compete in the Gran Turismo World Championship in Salzburg Austria in 2019. His other gaming passion was Elder Scrolls open world role playing. He is widely known by his screen name, Racing Swordsman, and his You Tube channel showcases his means of relaxation and escape riding his recumbent bike. He graduated from Brookfield Central HS and earned a BA in Communication from UWM. Steve made friends effortlessly. His departure from our lives comes as a shocking development for someone who was so dearly loved by so many. We are forever grateful for his presence in our lives and will cherish all the wonderful memories of him. Steven will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and associates. We pray that you are now at peace. We love you Steven and always will. Mom and Dad.
Steven is survived by his parents John and Tina Cotton, his sister Valerie Cotton and niece Ava, and his girlfriend Taylor; along with many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. A memorial celebration of Steven’s life will be held on October 19 at Hop Harvest & Vine in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
