Steve will be greatly missed in the design and construction community, and by his beloved family and friends. It’s difficult to fit so many qualities into to one man – talented architect, charismatic business leader, teacher, and loyal friend - I guess that’s why they made him big. Thanks for the support and wonderful memories over the years Steve especially in Abu Dhabi where we had each other’s back – just “Frick and Frack”

I met Steve in 2002 and worked with him almost continuously for the ensuing two decades. He was a man of exceptional character, bold ideas, and contagious enthusiasm. I was proud to call him a friend and mentor.
My deepest heartfelt sympathy for the loss. I learned more about high-rise office buildings in a year of working with Steve than the all the remainder of my 41 years in design and development. What a knowledgeable and approachable talent and fine human being.
Shocked to hear about Steve’s loss. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. I will surely miss the presence of a truly great and kind person.
We are terribly sorry to hear that Steve has passed on. He was truly one of a kind. Our heartfelt condolences to Maggie, his kids and his entire family.
Sincerely,
Ed and Tiffany Zimmerman
Here are some of the projects I worked together with Steve on.
We were deeply saddened to hear of Steve's passing. We were honored and blessed to have spent time with Big Dog and loved hearing Steven and Annabelle's stories of their adventures at the lake house. We have been reminded again in the past days how deeply loved he was by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with Maggie and all of the Nilles family.
With love,
John and Colette
