Steven's obituary

Steven Wayne Fristoe went home to Jesus on February 3rd at age 61.

Steve was born to Harold T & Delores M Fristoe on July 28th of 1959 in Springfield, IL. As a child, he enjoyed martial arts and caring for others as he did his entire life.

Steve held over 22 Tenth degree black belts and honored all disciplines of Martial Arts. As second generation Bruce Lee student, Steve was especially fond of Filipino arts of Kali, Escrima, knife and stick fighting. He held many high ranking titles such as Hanshi, Guru, and Sifu to name a few.

Steve met his wife, Katrina and soon moved to Tuscon, AZ to start their life together. Steve was a chaser of dreams and he found all that he had dreamt of in his loving wife.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, husband & Guro Steve also loved his dog Marley with all of his heart. Throughout his entire life, Steve helped and inspired others to become their best selves. He held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Steve is reunited with his father and mother in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Katrina Fristoe, his son Steven M and Janelle Fristoe, his daughter Brianna L Fristoe, Richard T & Sue Fristoe (Brother), Gina M & Tevell Rose (Sister), Eric L Fristoe (Brother) & Sharon Sneed as well as grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Steve worked as an Independent Living Advocate at DIRECT Center for Independence in Tucson. He was honored to work along side other warriors to stand up and fight for the rights of our community of disabled brothers and sisters.

First and foremost important to Steve was and always will be God. One of Steve's callings was to defend the word of God. As an apologetic, one of his favorite verses is:
First Peter 3:15
But honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.
