Steve was my friend and teacher for years in Memphis ,Tn.  He is amazing.
All these years later, and I still have an empty place in my heart that only you filled. I love you and miss you, and I wish nothing but peace and blessings on all those miss you. I'll meet you in Valhalla, my friend. Save me a seat.
Steve Fristoe influenced my approach and thinking I'd say more than any instructor I ever had, maybe not as many as he, but a huge number nonetheless. He was a true warrior, person, and a shining example of what it meant to be the best of humanity to all who had the good fortune to have known him. I did not know as I write this through heart felt tears, he had passed until I looked him up. I will never forget how he influenced me in so many great ways and I attempt to pass that on to my students. I trained with him some in Memphis tenn in the late 90s i believe. And then I went to his home a few times when he moved. He was a truly great man and I loved him... R L Robbins

when i was a kid, about 30 years ago, he came to Shannon Walsh's dojo to train with us on MANY occasions.  i loved the way he made me dance, and he LOVED my Fiero, was amazed at the leg room.  He said he thought he wouldn't fit, because it is so small a car, but he loved how we could take turns at 40.  That is one albino that i knew and loved.  was shocked when i found an obituary instead. in Granite City, IL.  we lost Shannon many years ago.  I loved the banter we would all get going.  Miss you Steve.
Steve was a true warrior for Jesus, a true example and disciple. Someone you wanted to be more like. We lost a great one but we know that Steve fought the good fight and he finished his race. He ran well and most importantly finished well.In Christ, Steve is not dead he is alive! He is more alive then we could ever possibly imagine, now that he is with the Lord. I trust and believe that Steve is rooting for us and cheering us on in our race and in our fight. We will see him again and in the light of eternity it will be very soon. This life is not all there is. Because of God, we pass from death unto true life. Steve is safe with Jesus now and I praise God for that. Look forward to seeing you once again my dear brother in Christ!! 🕊️
Roy and Sue Penney... we sat together in church and were on the alter team together. Steve prayed with us many times for our family and we prayed with him for his family. Roy and Steve had a bond from the first time they met. My daughter was an EMT and had a life threatening illness and Steve gave his love and prayer support to her. She was miraculously healed by our Lord and I know Steve had a big part in that. Steve was a true prayer warrior and a brother in Christ we loved him. Looking forward to seeing Steve in heaven and spending eternity together. This is the hope (promise) we have as Christians.
Steven loved to talk about his children, grand children, wife and his beloved dog Marley. I enjoyed every story he shared with me because they were full of love and passion. He shared very funny stories of Marley. He knew I loved to hear about Marley as I have 2 fur babies of my own. I know Marley grieves for Steve and feels the same sense of loss we all feel. I miss Steve everyday and will for a long time. Steve lit the world up and his is a flame that will never die.
In response to "What was the most fun you ever had with Steven?"
I went to school with Steve in Springfield, Il, and later took martial arts classes from him. He was an excellent, and patient, teacher. Peace to him, and to his family.
Steve was such a great person and a big influence on me as my first martial arts instructor 30+ years ago. Steve was very generous, supportive and caring of others. I know he means so much to the many lives that he touched.

My condolences to all his family and friends. Thank you Steve. Thank you for being who you are and showing us all how to be better people.
I first met Steve at Banner Hospital. He was a life coach for Project Search. He mentored young adults with certain disabilities. He helped them integrate into different units within the hospital. He loved his job and the people he helped. Steve loved everyone unconditionally. He taught me humility and selflessness. Steve was the most amazing person I have ever known. I miss him every day.
I met Steve at church. Him and I instantly bonded as brothers in Christ. We served on the Prayer Team together. Every Sunday we would give each other a big bear hug. He would always tell me he was praying for my family, and I would tell him I was praying for his. A man of God, a brother in Christ, a fellow Prayer Warrior! I will miss you so much , my brother! Our loss is Heavens gain. Give CODY a hug for me! Love you brother! fSee you again at the end of the road!
Steve made a difference for so many. I know he was a big influence in my son Matt’s life.

Steve was a consumate professional, colleague and human being. Selfless and dedicated in word and action, there will never be another like him.
Dear Katrina,
A friend at Banner just told me of Steve’s passing. My heart is shattered this morning. I just can’t imagine him gone! I’m so sorry for your loss. He was so kind and loving. He texted and called often to check up on me to make sure I was alright. He was truly one of the good guys! He was kind and giving to everyone. I will miss him terribly! If I can help you in any way, please call. My number is in Steve’s phone I’m sure!

God be with you now and always.
Love, Lynn Serra
He gifted me sight! The ability to see the path. He used the truth
to teach! Always humble! my first real hero! His influence brought me home to Hawaii where I found my life’s work, lā’au lapa’au, traditional Hawaiian herbal medicine! I came home over 20 years ago looking for the combative arts but was given the herbs! He gave me the foundation through martial arts. Funny how he already gifted me lua, traditional Hawaiian martial arts!
My prayers & condolences to the family for your loss! I will always share stories of Steve. If I can do anything please let me know. Please contact me if you are ever in Hawaii, I would love to share my aloha!
Mahalo ke akua! Mahalo kumu Steve Fristoe!

My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and immense community.
Sifu Steve exemplified the potential of the human spirit.
My condolence to his family. Steve was a very generous & giving person and I consider it a blessing to have shared some time with him on this earthly plane.
May love & faith follow him on the spiritual path of evolution.
Unconditional love and acceptance, patience, kindness, and spiritual strength. Steve was a true man of GOD who walked the walk and talked the talk. He lived his beliefs and shared with all who would listen.
Steve was an amazing prayer warrior. I will always remember him and his love for God and prayer. May God give you peace and your memories of such an amazing man be with you always.
