Steve's obituary
Steve Anaya, husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, firefighter/paramedic, succumbed to a 15 year battle with MS. His faith takes him onto his next life, reunited with his father, mother, other family members and the myriad of Boston Terriers who left before him. A true gentleman who brought calmness and class everywhere he went.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Melany, his sons Christopher and Matthew, his grandsons Beckham and Hudson, his daughter-in-law Stefania, stepmother Jenny, brothers John, Lorenzo, Mario and Will. His niece Amanda, nephew James and sister-in-law Ronda who were all very close to him plus a myriad of cousins and distant relatives.
He was proud of his 23-year career as a Fire Captain/Paramedic and professed he’d go back any day, even if they didn’t pay him. He loved and admired the communities of Moraga and Orinda, the staff and crew at MOFD, and all his duties and accomplishments representing his peers at Firefighter’s Local 1230 for over 17 years.
His hobbies included reading comic books, movie trivia and quoting anything he heard on the television or big screen. He was a huge fan of woodworking, having built many pieces including dressers, armoires, headboards, decks, fences, etc…. He loved animation, Disneyland and his extensive collection of firefighter memorabilia.
We will always miss him and will be forever grateful for his time here, healing everything as much as he could, everywhere he went.
One of his favorite quotes “Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full”.
