Update from Jan. 25, 2025

Because of the unbelievable generosity of all of you, we are honored to share that Sterling’s final resting place will be at the historic Mt. Auburn Cemetery in his hometown of Cambridge, “where the great and the good of Boston—without restrictions on religion or race—would be remembered and celebrated for all of time in a setting of exceptional beauty.” Sterling will reside alongside inspiring poets, abolitionists, artists, and patrons. We find this fitting, as he himself inspired friends and family alike with his artistry, charisma, and talent. It is a place where we will all be able to visit with Sterling, walk the beautiful grounds, and remember everything we loved so deeply about him.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us give Sterling Zen Singletary this final gift.

Update from Jan. 23, 2025

From Laurie: The outpouring of love from our dear ones is overwhelming. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I may ask you all to do something. No matter how you interpret religion or spirituality of any kind, may I ask you to please say his full name STERLING ZEN SINGLETARY to the heavens and send pure love, light and peace for his soul. If you light candles, chant, say special prayers, I ask you please to do all of the rituals there are to bless and keep my precious child. My gratitude for your love and support is infinite.

Update from Jan. 21, 2025

The family is blown away by the generosity of our friends and loved ones. We had not dared to hope that we might inter Sterling's remains in Cambridge (i.e., Mt. Auburn Cemetery), but perhaps that is not so far out of reach, so we have raised our fundraising target for now.
