Saw this in a video clip while watching tv. Steve was with a friend having a hoot of a time at Buddy Guy's bar named Legends. Buddy is a famous blues musician who apparently helped teach Jimi Hendrix how to play guitar. When in town, many famous musicians would walk on Legends stage and jam. By the look on Steve's face he very well could have been in front of Eric Clapton or Stevie Ray Vaughn

Steve's heart was broken when Katie died. We looked in a lot of shelters and across state lines to find the perfect furbaby. I wish you could have seen the excitement on Steve's face when he rushed her outside in his arms. He said with excitement, "She's the one!" Steve marched into the foster mom's house before I could even get out of the car. He loved that dog beyond understanding. She died 2 years ago and he could not bring himself to even think of getting another dog- he said the heartache was just to great when they pass. Steve and I sobbed for days and weeks when she passed on.

2021, Navarre, FL, USA
Ahh... Steve's happiest place! He created this sanded Key West tiki bar area in our backyard. Steve would spend hours blowing leaves, tidying it up and vacuuming leaves out of the pool- he loved it! Nearly everyday he would come in the house and say to me, " well, I've got it looking better than ever! " He was thrilled to see our short term rental guests flip over it. One guest said they felt like they were in a different country when they were back there. It took Steve about 3 years to get it where he wanted it. When he'd go buy another accessory for it, he'd come in the house to get me to go out back to see his new addition. I have to say he was spot on with his decorating- I'm sure his mother, Helen's, exquisite taste rubbed off on him.

Steve had to have this little run about. Doesn't he look good in it? He took me 7 hours one way to get it. It was worth it seeing the smile on his face when he drove it. He was actually mad at me in this picture because it always took me extra time to get out of the house. When Steve wanted to get out the door to go have some fun he took it seriously.

Steve's new RIB (rigid inflatable boat) We drove 9 hours one way to buy this new boat a few months ago. We only took it out 4 times but those 4 times were amazing! I loved to see how happy and peaceful Steve was on the water. We'd launch it by our home and take it to Pensacola Beach 45 min boat ride- beach it and have a fabulous lunch at any one of a number of restaurants... and back to Navarre we would go. Or... we'd head in the opposite direction- 55 minutes to famous Crab Island in Destin, Florida- look for a picture and a video- the ultimate happy place- thousands of boats congregate around waist deep water, a lot of music, socializing, eating on the floating restaurants or buying ice cream or tee shirts from the tiny boats mozying around... add crystal clear emerald green water and a raft and you'd think you've gone to heaven.

Steve in his happy place boating- sun on his face, wind in his hair- smile on his face with close-knit brother-in-law John visiting from Delaware. I always felt safe boating with Steve. He's been boating since he was very young. It was always obvious he had mastered caution and skill in uncharted waters.
