Stephen "Steve"'s obituary
Steve had a great love for life. He loved to have fun, laugh, and most of all, joke around and pull pranks. He had countless friends and never met a stranger. Everyone who met Steve, even if briefly, would say he was one of the nicest guys they had ever met. He enjoyed the outdoors, running, camping, floating the river, working out, and sports. Anyone that knew him well, knew his love for the Dallas Cowboys. He was full of vast knowledge related to his favorite team and was a true fan. Steve was gifted with great musical talent. He played the trumpet in the school band. He also learned piano and guitar. He had a beautiful, captivating voice and an ability to write songs and music. Most of all, Steve loved his family and, more importantly, his loving wife Shannon, who has been his dedicated advocate, and daughters Ryland and Kaitland, his greatest joy and accomplishment. He adored “the girls.” They were the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife Shannon Smith; daughters Ryland and Kaitland Smith; parents Steve and Aleda Smith Sr.; sister and brother-in-law Sharla and Rick Decker; nephews Joshua Decker and Ricky Decker; niece Brittany Ford; mother-in-law Ginger Henley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jason and Sheila Henley, nephew and niece Justin and Brooke Henley; aunts; uncles, and numerous cousins and beloved dogs Dakota, Paisley, and Paxton.
