Stephen's obituary

Stephen Hutson went home to Jesus on October 31, 2022 at age 67.

Steve was born to Verne and Luann (Brodie) Hutson on April 04, 1955 in Salina, Kansas. As a child, Steve loved reading all things, especially Superman comics. He also loved watching Lone Ranger and other westerns, especially John Wayne movies. Steve met his wife, Brenda (Smith) Hutson in 1975 at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. They married in 1976 and went on to have 2 daughters, Dawn (Hutson) Willitt and Dayna Hutson. Steve worked as a pastor in Kansas and his work moved him to California and later Texas, where he passed in 2022. In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Steve also loved reading comics, playing guitar, singing, bowling, golfing, shooting at the range, and woodworking. He was a true jack of all trades, always pursuing opportunities to learn something new. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.

Steve joins Luann (Brodie) Hutson, his mother, Dale and Opal (Shipman) Brodie, his maternal grandparents, and Neil and Helen (Guymon) Hutson, his paternal grandparents, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Hutson, and 2 daughters, Dawn (Wesley) Willitt and Dayna (DJ Golitko) Hutson, his 4 grandsons, Malachi, Judah, and Solomon Willitt and Damien Golitko, his father, Verne (Ann Lincoln) Hutson, his 2 sisters, Denise (Rick) Jokerst and Tammy (Mike) Homan, and his brother, Randy (Carrie) Hutson, and many neices, nephews, and great neices and great nephews.

Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths

for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk

through the darkest valley,

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
