Steve was the brother I never had. From 7th grade on we played sports together through high school, and became close friends. We hung out most evenings and weekends, playing cards, Risk, and shooting pool, and calling ourselves “ the dud brothers”. He lived in our house for a year when his family moved, and then again later when he came back and attended dental school at the U of Mn. He was super smart and good at everything he did. Led the City in football scoring his senior year. He was awarded a scholarship to West Point in 1968, but ironically flunked the entrance physical. Best thing that happened to him till he met Diane…
God, I could go on forever…and I will in my heart and mind…love you bro 😔

Our sincere condolences for the loss of your dear Stephen. We met Stephen at the wedding of your dear daughter KC and Christian. He was funny and made us feel welcome right away. We also had a great and memorable time when he visited Germany and also in Houston for Christian's 30th birthday. The bike tour through Houston with him remains unforgotten. We will not forget him and pray for him. Anki, Noah and Fabian Knospe from Germany
