Mr Dooley was my teacher, mentor, colleague, and friend.  50 years ago he inspired me to want to be like him. He was  a gentle giant to a young student. He was an inspiration to an aspiring teacher. He was a supportive guide as a fellow teacher.  He was a kind, caring, compassionate, thoughtful steady hand as a friend. His life influenced mine on a daily basis.

Thank you Steve for making me the man I am today.

My condolences to Stephen's family. I first met Stephen when I was a student at Auburn High and I would often look to Mr. Dooley for advice on a project, a computer program, and driving as well as personal life choices and problems. Mr. Dooley had such a kind heart. He was always available for all of his students. He had a positive outlook and tried to help with anything he could. Mr. Dooley made a big difference in many of his students lives, I hope he knew how greatly appreciated he was and what a difference he made.

Steve and I were colleagues for over 26 years at Auburn High.  During that time we interacted very often on both professional and personal events.  Steve was a gentleman’s gentleman….exceptionally dependable, fiercely loyal, mechanically gifted, phenomenally humble, and genuinely sincere.  Steve had what I’d call a healing smile…it just made you feel good.  He touched so many lives in a positive way, we are all so lucky that he was a part of our journey.  I will always cherish his friendship and I’ll never not see his smile.  God bless you Steve…

Mr. Dooley taught me how to drive. He was there when I got my license. He was a great man and educator. He will be missed.
